This new city hall anchors a developing town center in a growing Midwestern suburb, combining municipal offices with indoor and outdoor community spaces. A central lobby connects key areas like the council chambers, training rooms, and city offices in a functional, open layout. Natural materials—limestone, wood, and metal—reflect the city’s identity, with timber columns on the exterior adding warmth and texture to the building’s façade. These columns, inspired by traditional post-and-beam construction, enhance the building’s civic character while reinforcing its connection to the landscape. Local trees removed from the site were repurposed in custom interior features, further tying the building to its place. Built for flexibility, the building supports both city services and public gatherings. Outdoor spaces include a large civic porch, splash pad, skating rink, bike track, and green areas—making city hall a true community hub.
