Market One

Located at 130 East Third Street, Market One has been turned from an old warehouse into a mixed-use building. This 114-year-old historic building is the first commercial netzero energy building in Iowa, producing more energy than it consumes. A nearly $17 million renovation project, Market One is a LEED Platinum building containing high-efficiency mechanical systems, geothermal wells, and over 780 solar panels. With the goal of net-zero energy consumption, each aspect of the renovation of Market One was carefully designed with sustainability in mind. The completed renovation is a show case for implementing sustainable development methods and energy efficiency with historic building renovations. Market One features office space, a rooftop conference room, an outdoor gathering space, and a parking lot covered by a canopy with photovoltaic cells.
