Iowa Wrestling Training Facility
Iowa City, IAIowa Wrestling Training Facility
Since the mid-1970s, no program has defined collegiate wrestling like the University of Iowa. That tradition continues with the new world-class wrestling training facility, designed to honor Iowa Wrestling’s legacy while supporting the future of the men’s and women’s programs.
Opened May 30, 2024, the 38,000-square-foot, two-level facility is located near the south entrance of Carver-Hawkeye Arena and connects directly to the arena via an underground tunnel. The building features a Hall of Champions, coaches’ offices, student-athlete lounges, locker rooms, strength and conditioning space, and the Bob and Kathy Nicolls Wrestling Room, offering nearly twice the practice space of the former facility. Funded entirely through private donations, the $31 million center reflects the enduring support behind one of the most storied programs in collegiate athletics.
