Iowa State Football Training Facility

Project Description The Bergstrom Football Complex is a wedge-shaped addition to Iowa State University’s football training program. It stands as a proud symbol of the commitment to excellence in intercollegiate athletics at Iowa State University. The 60,000 square foot, two-story, state-of-theart football training facility complex includes a strength and conditioning facility, an office complex, an auditorium, and spacious locker rooms. Unique to the design of the Bergstrom Football Complex was its hybrid foundation system of helical and native soil, as well custom designed trusses (by others) that needed to be integrated into the MEP design. This required working closely with the design team to ensure all elements were accounted for accurately. This project replaces and expands the existing football operations from their prior location in accordance with the Athletic Departments Football program requirements and desired functional adjacencies.
