Advanced Teaching and Research Building

The Advanced Teaching and Research Building (ATRB) is a five-story cast-in-place concrete building that will house the pathology and microbiology departments, as well as portions of other departments. The new state-of-the-art laboratories for research and education will be used by faculty and students. A new green house complex sits on top of the concrete roof and will provide advanced life sciences research opportunities. The new ATRB will provide adequate classroom space, offices, and lab space. Key features of the ATRB are flexible research laboratory spaces and casework allow the department to respond to changes in research teams, topics, equipment, and techniques; technologically advanced teaching laboratories to promote interactive, science exploration and learning; and interaction areas throughout the building encourage planned and spontaneous discussions, brain-storming, and outreach sessions.
